Should I include unnecessary references?

Myesha Zerbe: It is possible that they want the references to check on your honesty, reliability, etc. In that case adults you knew when you were involved in church would be appropriate. Teachers would also work.I always ask the person I am using as a reference if it is OK with him/her before I use him/her as a reference.You could ask the people requesting the references. I admire that you want to keep things on the up-and-up, and I think any potential employer, volunteer or otherwise, would appreciate that too.I think it sufficient to include the one job ref you have, and in one of the other blanks put "personal references available upon request"...Show more
