does a thing such as good vegan blue cheese exist?

Majorie Chester: To be honest, I have yet to taste a vegan blue cheese. Cheddar and mozzarella flavored - but not blue cheese. I love food fight grocery in Portland - it is all 100% vegan and they carry a lot of cheesy things - here is one of their pages for "Sheese" in blue flavor. http://store.foodfightgrocery.com/sheese.html But they are out of it right now or I would go try some for you! But check them out, they are good people and reliable. As for Italian Salad Dressing. If you make your own - you are fine. And almost all regular (not light or low fat) Italian dressings are vegan. But the reduced or no fat kind often have gelatin in as a thickener. You just have to read the label, some use carageenan or guar gum which are both vegan. You have to be careful anyway because there are many different flavors of Italian dressings on the shelves and some contain cheese. You can buy the little seasoning packets for Italian dressing and add the vinegar and oil of your c! hoice....Show more

Patricia Dornbos: No, but you could try making it =) Experiment with making easier cheeses first of course. I'm sure it'll involve tofu.High five for being vegan by the way

Antonia Boomershine: Cheeses made with vegetal or microbial rennet should be considered vegan.Anglona Sapori s.r.l. from Sardinia makes a vegan cheese exported worldwide.

Jess Grizzel: Cheese is not vegan.

Cletus Crotts: I almost made my own, sort of, by forgetting about a chunk of Vegan Mozzarella that developed some marvelous veining. I tried it and found it to be okay, but not really good. However, here is something that is good:http://www.yourveganmom.com/your_vegan_mom/2008/09...

Thurman Buege: Some Italian dressing is Vegan--many have Parmesan cheese in it.I don't know about the Vegan blue cheese though--There's gotta be a way to either make or buy it. I mean, I've made "Ranch dressing" that I've had omnivores mistake for the real thing (lol, my mo! m asked me why I had taken the Ranch out of the bottle and put! it into a Tupperware container)....Show more
